On the heels of a major rebrand, the Brand team at Red Hat worked to establish an icon style that would be used to create icons for marketing materials, presentations, web content, infographics, diagrams, and more.

I worked alongside colleagues on the Red Hat Brand team to define this icon set, create nearly 350 new icons, and set up trainings that enable other designers to create new icons, and build repositories that organize all of the icon files. In 2022 the entire Red Hat icon library was published under the open source MIT license, and can be found here.
Red Hat operates in highly technical spaces, which meant our icons couldn't just look good, they had to carry real meaning. I worked alongside a team of designers, engineers, and product marketers to translate complex concepts into a visual language that fit this new style.
